a bit surprising to see in a tech/computer site usually dealing with linux, android, java, etc..
a long article about the fairlight.

Didn't the Mirage come out in 1984?

Also, why has Naked Eyes fallen out of the memory of history? They were from Bath, but English people never talk about them. They used the Fairlight EXTENSIVELY, and had at least one or two hits in the States.

The DSK-8 (the original Mirage) was launched in Dec 1984 and then shown at the winter NAMM show in Anaheim, Feb 1985. Afaik the first Mirage's shipped in the spring of '85.

by looking at this Wiki I guess it is not that surprising that people in the U.K don't really talk about them.
I had never heard of them, and the music I listened to back then, was predominately synth.

I was all ready to jump to their defence, but yeah. Wow, they did NOT do well in the U.K. Weird. They SHOULD have. There were several 80s sampler cliches I heard first from them. Everyone should give them a listen to find out what thing you're currently doing that they did first. :wink:
