Am I safe to assume that this is a moog ???
Listen from 2.30 - 4.20
This is the equipment they used:
Mellotron strings, church organ & choir tapes, Elka X-55 organ, Logan string melody, celesta,
electric & acoustic piano, Minimoog, Moog System 55.
So I'm assuming that the sounds in that clip is the moog synths, right ???

Well I don't think it's a church organ.

Well, it sounds vaguely like a celeste, but also not. I'm going to guess it's the Moog.

It might be a celeste dubbed with a moog.

If you must drag up Amadeus in a VSE thread, at the very least post Don Giovanni:Automatic Gainsay wrote:

Yes, I'm oretty sure that's a minimoog. It sounds like a FM sound, doesn't it?Desecrated wrote:Listen from 2.30 - 4.20

Of the synths you mention only the minimoog was used on this score. Sandro Centofanti was
the main keyboard player in LIBRA and he used a minimoog, Arp Omni and mellotron on SHOCK.

Centofanti during the recording of SCHOCK, 1977.

Con: Not quite as effective in demonstrating the sound of the celeste.

I just listened to the complete "Schock" soundtrack again and I think it's awesome. The score contains some
really nice synth/keyboard work by Alessandro "Sandro" Centofanti.

Micke's freaky, he just....knows. It's rather scary how right he is about everything.Desecrated wrote: I would love to know where you got that information

I got the info from Sandro's website. You should check it out, the site contains lots of info and vintage gear/studio pics:
Regarding the photo I posted (you'll find it in the 'studio' section of the site): the caption says that it was taken in 1977 during the recording of the soundtrack to Mario Bava's "SCHOCK":

Unfortunately the english language version of the site doesn't seem to work.
Btw, the synths & keyboards mentioned in the gearlist you posted above are exactly the ones used by Claudio
Simonetti on Goblin's "Suspiria" soundtrack (rec. in nov 1976). Claudio told me that they hired in Gian-Felice Fugazza
to program the Moog system 55 on that score.
