Music for juno 106

Post by madmarkmagee » Mon Jun 06, 2011 1:34 pm

just bought a Juno 106. I, of course need to play something on it... when it arrives...

I am a big fan of the youtube videos that polish Jexus guy/WC olo garb make... anyway...

I tend to just work basic melodies out of songs i like, by ear i've worked out the lead line of love will tear us apart, blue monday and terminator, but of course it is very basic, incomplete, and it would be much easier to play if I had sheet music.

I don't know what the names are of the songs jexus plays... I am a particular fan of the Jx-3p, Juno 106, Yamaha Dx-7 and the ensoniq Esq-1 demos... the excerpts on those videos are awesome

I can play traditional piano, but doubt any of my mums piano sheet music was written for synth. So hear is my request...

So, hear is my request... What songs are awesome to play on synth? what songs do you love to play on synths?

Considering just studying the finger movements on videos... and transcribing/committing to memory/trial and era , does anyone do that? how hard is that?

Where is a good, relatively easy, cheap/free, big range place to get the sheet music of the songs you recommend?

Thanks heaps

Almost all the songs I play on synths come out of my head. :D Sometimes if I want to do a cover I just search for a midi file of the track and then learn it from that, I don't use sheet music.

I think a lot of the stuff jexus plays he just makes up. I suppose it's obligatory that you learn the final countdown as well though.

You could learn Vangelis' To The Unknown Man, Pulstar, Alpha and Hymne. All of these songs would sound great on a Juno 106.
