Please help me remember a synth hit. (resolved!)

Post by D-Collector » Mon Aug 08, 2011 7:36 pm

I was on vacation last week and spent evenings listening to a channel that had 80s and 90s hits all night. There was this one song that I have heard many times but cannot name..

-It's a late 80s (maybe early 90s) synth pop/rock hit ala "Heaven is a place on earth".
-The singer actually sounds kinda like Belinda Carlisle (which fooled me to believe it was hers, but I cannot find it under her name)
-Starts with a big, soft and icey synth pad, then kicks off with vocals, large drums and rich arrangement, typical of the period.

Not much to work with, I know. Does it ring a bell for anyone? It was a hit with a nice melody, and I have heard it many times through my life but can never remember the artist or name. Any help, youtube clips are appreciated.

After an exhaustive search on youtube I found it...

It was of course Kim Wilde's "You Came" from 1988. I was wrong about the pad starting before the drums though.
I love this song! So nice melody and her voice is golden. Should have know it was Kim Wilde, I've listened a lot to her in the past. ;)
