question about minimoog name-plates

Post by volumetrik » Mon Dec 26, 2011 2:52 am

hey

I noticed in some pics that the minimoog doesn't have the name-plates "R. A. Moog" or "Moog minimoog"...on the right side of the keyboard panel..

Is that because they fell off or were there versions of the minimoog without the name plates?

The Mini in the third photo, and maybe the second, look like it has been refinished. And like me, never reglued the name plate.

You might want to resize that first pic. It's freakin' huge.

Yep, they're just missing - you can see by the different mod/pitch wheels that they're from different eras also.

I have noticed however that some seem to have rounded edges and some are square edged - I think this is just a change as the production evolved, like many other features of the mini.

Z, I took mine off too as someone had glued it on not really straight, interestingly I found as I took it off that they used two 1cm strips of double sided tape to secure them in the factory, not glue, so you can actually take them off without ruining the wood finish if you're careful.
