Re: Wow..Just got a VCS 3
you just reminded me of that auction. I hope you're not in that range. I don't know what the two synths go for comparatively, but at least the seller seems to offer free shipping.
Sorry. I tried to copy the e-Bay link to here but couldn't get it sorted out.

Re: Wow..Just got a VCS 3
you use the item number, not the url.
Re: Wow..Just got a VCS 3
Congratulations. Great synth, of course, though incredibly highly priced now.
A Mark II VCS3 was the synth I learned on, many years ago, so I always have a soft spot for them.
It may be worth looking at this forum (if you haven't already): http://forum.thesynthi.de/index.php? The people on there are very knowledgeable and helpful.
You mentioned finding out how it works. Do you have the original documentation? There was an EMS booklet with various `experiments' and discussion of what's happening. It's available online somewhere. If you need further details I or the people at the Synthi forum can help.

Re: Wow..Just got a VCS 3
Does anyone have an email address for a Synthi forum admin? I've tried to register several times but it never gets approved. There's a lengthy Board FAQ that says to contact a board administrator with any questions, but an email address is never given and "the team" link at the bottom of each page is only viewable if you're already registered.Sweep wrote: It may be worth looking at this forum (if you haven't already): http://forum.thesynthi.de/index.php? Re: Wow..Just got a VCS 3
mrfang - I've sent you a PM for an email address for you. I'll pass that on to the Synthi site administrator for him to sort the problem out.

Re: Wow..Just got a VCS 3
Congrats on this and welcome to many hours of matrix patching, knob twiddling and extraordinary noise making!
+1 to getting onto the synthi forum when the admin problems clear up (odd to hear about that). There are plenty of downloadable documents on the site including the synthi users manual. You'll also find that members range from very brainy techxperts to not-so-brainy musicians who just like making noises (ie, me)
