[success story/ROMpler] I've got Tyros for ~$500 :-]

Recently, I've bought Yamaha Tyros with broken PSU. It was a bit risky, as the seller wasn't sure, if the rest of the keyboard was OK. Yamaha service here asks about $220 for replacement power supply, so he decided to sell the thing and move on to something new.
I was really lucky, as it indeed only the PSU was fried. However I wasn't willing to spend over $200 for replacement. So I started searching for an alternative. And it turned out, that MeanWell PT-65 industrial PSU seemed to be right choice. It has big advantage over original Sharp unit - It's available for $25

So I bought it, drilled addidtional holes in PSU chassis, connected it according to service manual, flipped mains switch and....... IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY
Acoustic sounds on this keyboard are really great - I like some of them more than on my MO6 - and it's really fun to play
It is possible to create patches from scratch, but only using software editor. And it's synth engine is very similar to the Motif:
- 8 layers per patch
- 2 multimode filters for each layer (connected in series)
- 5-stage envelopes for pitch, filter and amp (for each layer)
- adjustable keytracking for pitch and filter (with three or four breakpoints)
etc
Considering, that working ones go here for around $1200-1500 I feel quite lucky
