Does anyone know what keyboard is used to create the wonderfully hypnotic pad sound in this song?

thanks, ted.

Dunno, could be almost any typical analogue poly of the time, or even your DX.

I've never heard that track before, but I have heard this. Interesting bass line...

He's known to use a Jupiter 6. 'Can you feel it' might be all JP6, bass is for sure.

Bassline is Juno-6.
Pad is probably Jupiter 6.

Well yeah there is some discussion about JU6(0) vs. JP6 on the bassline... He seems to not really remember himself as well. Anyway, they both can make that sound and both have the arp clock in...

I always forget what a great song this is...

Just jammed out to this in my empty house, and for a brief moment all of my problems went away...

Hello,

As far as analog machines, Larry Heard also used an Oberheim Matrix-6R.

When I had the pleasure of meeting him he said that the bassline for that track and several other early songs were done on a "Roland Juno 2", in this interview (http://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/lect ... ntle-giant) he says similar but goes on to say that the "Juno 2" had no midi and he played it all in by hand so my guess is that the bassline was a Roland SH-02. The pads I think are Jupiter 6 and I remember seeing a Jupiter 6 in an early photo of his studio. imho
