So are there any good PC editors about for this little forgotten about Yamaha?

All I can find is this which I didn't like using: http://sourceforge.net/projects/fb01editor/

I don't mind a paid for option if it's good and not stupidly priced.

I had a good one for 4OP Yamaha's mainly aimed at the TX-81Z but it doesn't work with the FB, in fact I was pretty disappointed given the similarity of the FB to the rest it's incompatibility in even reading patches!
I don't know why Yamaha did this

Then, either that or use the Atari STEEM emulator with the Caged Artist 4op editors.

The FB01 dates to the late 80s, there were many commercial and free editors that ran on the computers of the day: Atari ST, DOS, Amiga, early Macs. Unfortunately the commercial patch editor vendors have all gone out of business and developers of free editors couldn't be expected to keep supporting versions for newer OSes 25 years later.

The STeem option mentioned above is probably your best bet. You will find the GUI for Atari-based editors to look awfully primitive by modern GUI standards.

Good luck.
