Oh man I want one so bad... This is gonna be one of the best new things out there.
I just do not have the capital to invest in that kind of thing right now though.

I'm actually kind of with you here, new interfaces, monitors, bass guitar etc. all unfortunately need to come first.
Will keep eyes peeled for MK.II or how this s**t ends out peeling out though, depending on how good the PC link is this box could be a very cool addition.

I hate selling stuff but I am selling a load of redundant stuff for this. This could potentially be THE synth for me that has never been.

I'm up for grabbing the A4 as well, but i will wait until the bug reports start coming in from users and they are all ironed out first, so that will be next year before i purchase.

Well not to be a downer, cause this *is* cool, but you guys seem to be sold mighty early. Is no one else wondering what exactly the sound will be like? I mean, function-wise probably is a good purchase in itself, but anyhoo.

Every single sound demo I have heard of it so far has been beyond uninspiring, that's why I'm watching hesitantly.

Well, lets be honest It won't sound any worse than any new analogue out at the moment. Just a good analogue sound coupled with the elektron type sequencer is something that I have wanted way before even I knew what I wanted. If it is that then it has me hook line and sinker.

I've gotta say what Elektron is doing is smart stuff tho, basically taken the best idea roland had (the XOX sequencer) and just ran with it.

A pity the sequencer doesn't support midi out (apart from clock) in this current stage... Probably they don't want to compete their own products?

Well if you look at it from another angle, what does it remind you of...
1 x Midi in, 2 x din sync out. MC-202 1 x din sync in, 2 x din sync out.
There has been a lot of talk of comparing it with a DSI, but i'd say the A4 is more along the lines of a souped up MC-202. The step sequencer, the little keyboard with chicklet type keys, but instead of a 2-track sequencer, it has 4, plus with cv/gate out.

Oh, so does this actually have two DIN sync outs?
I don't know why, but that feature really excites me. I was bemoaning the lack of internal drums, but who needs them if you can clock your XoXs to it...

Well yeah that's true, but I got an MC202 for that already

If you want something with a midi sequencer you can just buy one of their other boxes, I don't get why people keep bringing that up.

There has been a lot of talk of comparing it with a DSI
http://soundcloud.com/elektron/sets/ana ... te-sounds/
I was going to say it sounds like a DSI Mopho recorded in a DAW, but I didn't want to offend anyone.
Or basically a TETRA with a sequencer attached.
Every single sound demo I have heard of it so far has been beyond uninspiring, that's why I'm watching hesitantly.
"Two Face" makes it sound like a worthy addition to the universe of
new stuff coming out of interest.
But sonically, it sounds like some of the randomized patches from the TETRA soft editor.
Something pretty descent on top and something growling underneath that's not really musical but does add character.

Again, I don't think WHAT you make is the point, I think it's more about HOW you make stuff.
That still seems to be a huge part of the electronic slant's fascination.
In other words, you could do this stuff easily with your current set up, but it's much more fun/cooler/hip/inspiring to do it THIS WAY or THATTAWAY!
