custom wood sides....where?

Post by chimney chop » Fri Feb 01, 2013 10:17 am

I'd like to get some wood sides custom made for my access indigo redback to give it a sequential circuits vibe.

I emailed synthwood but I think they're still in the middle of a move.

any other suggestions?

Just try a local cabinet-maker or carpenter, give them the originals to use as templates and you should be fine ;)

make them yourself. Just remember to sand down more than you think with various grades of paper.

The above suggestions are good options, but for the non-DIY-er:

looks like you've already contacted synthwood...

This is what I did for my ESQ-1. The results look great and it wasn't too expensive.

I really want to get some nice hardwood cabinets for the Juno-6 and Polysix in the UK.

Seems like no one is offering this service, synthwood aren't replying either.
The tatty chipboard cab's look terrible :/
Replicants are like any other machine, they're either a benefit or a hazard. If they're a benefit, its not my problem.

Active Member themilford makes wood ends for the Akai AX60 and the Matrix 6. Look under Gear Services & Other Goods. Email him. He may be able to help. I bought ends for my AX60 and it looks great.

Thanks for the plug C.

I'd have to see the panels removed from the unit to make sure they can be replicated with simple wood slabs... if they require routing or shaping it could drive the price up.

Right now i have cherry, maple and mahogany (quarter-sawn) in stock.

PM me and we can discuss it.
