Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
I've stopped checking every day/week and now I'll just be surprised if it shows up at my local keyboard store.

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
For my own sanity, I've only been checking on the dates that they tell me they will have it for me. I think they've told me like 5 different days at this point...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
There are some Japanese sellers on eBay that are offering them. They're charging a slight premium, of course. But you could have it in a week, if you don't mind ponying up a few extra bucks.

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
I already preordered one from guitar center, that's the issue. I'm not going to shell out money on ebay for a brand new item that I've already placed an order for.

And obviously, that's your prerogative. I was just informing those who think that places like Guitar Center and Sweetwater -- which always have gazillions of backorders and shortages on new, popular products -- are the only alternatives.thestreets wrote:I already preordered one from guitar center, that's the issue. Another example is the Moog Sub Phatty. You can't get one at any of the more popular outlets: Guitar Center, Sweetwater, American Musical, or zzounds. They just don't have them. But you can find plenty of brand-new ones from authorized Moog dealers on eBay. Just sayin'.

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
Mine arrived from Guitar Center last Friday. For the record, not one single date that any one has posted throughout the entire five months I've had it on preorder was accurate, so it's not worth calling them over and over bugging about it. You're only going to know once you get the email saying it's been processed for shipping. I placed my order really, really early, so if you haven't gotten it by now, you missed getting in line for the first shipment.

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
Yeah I guess it really comes down to what I've been saying all along which is "stop telling me that you're going to have it on a specific date, if I'm not going to get it then"

They're making up dates to make people leave their money for a preorder.

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
i cancelled my pre-order at the local big chain store here in toronto. didn't want my money just sitting waiting, and the sales folk were awful - unhelpful, cryptic, never return messages. i only called in twice asking about availability (over 4 weeks), and they acted like i was out of line. in the end, i called head office, and they revealed units won't arrive until august.

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
Played one this weekend - sounds like what I remember from back in the day. The mini keys were not really mini keys as we know them from the MicroKorg, etc. but larger as has been reported and they felt quite good and really playable for my meathooks.
Muhahahahahahahahaha!

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
i got to play one at sweetwaters gearfest friday and having never played the original, i was quite impressed. dialed in some "homework" sounds right off the bat. but man i never really looked closely at the patch panel before. its not as intuitive as i thought it was going to be. this has definitely made it to my want list.
My modular so far: Q104, Q106, Q107, Q108, Q109 x2 , Q116, Q118, Q127 w/Q140, Q130, STG Wave Folder, playing with Moog Voyager, VX-351, CP-251, MF-104M (x2 STEREO!)

Automatic Gainsay's MS-20/mini series on youtube sheds lots of light on the patch panel. Yeah, it definately looks like they designed the faceplate after they designed the electronics. What a jumble of lines and arrows.ColorForm2113 wrote:i got to play one at sweetwaters gearfest friday and having never played the original, i was quite impressed. dialed in some "homework" sounds right off the bat. but man i never really looked closely at the patch panel before. its not as intuitive as i thought it was going to be. this has definitely made it to my want list.

Actually, the plot thinnens. (Gosh, I wish I could remember where I got that saying. From some old TV show or movie, I guess.thestreets wrote:Pushed back to the 28th. AND THE PLOT THICKENS.
