IMHO, your list is more for power users like many of us than for the kind of buyer that would not normally spend a lot of money on a synth. I'm talking about newbies.

If nothing else I imagine having patch storage would add quite a bit to the cost, which obviously would also affect how it was received. Doesn't seem to have done Arturia much harm sales wise though, and it just makes for a different kind of instrument. If it's for you, great. If not, there's plenty of choice out there.

The original didn't have presets, so why would a reissue?

even at $800, this could very well be a game changer as far as what most medium-range buyers would purchase. just think of all the popular musicians you see on stage and in videos who currently sport MicroKorgs. this would be way cooler not just to see on stage, but also for bedroom musicians who don't even perform live. it's a win/win for everyone, mainly because of more knobs and better interface (than the MicroKorg at least). sure it's not a 4-voice poly, but I think it can still be a MicroKorg killer. I really hope this becomes a big success so Korg can hopefully produce more analog synths in the future.

But if it's a MicroKorg killer* then surely there won't be any net increase in Korg's profits?

If that happens, I will have my cake and eat it to...get a new MS-20 AND snatch up the discarded MKs...damn useful instruments.
