Hey guys!
I have been using Ableton Live in a fairly rudimentary way to sequence my Monotribe and drum machine, and arrange my songs/parts.
The thing is...I want it to be simpler!!!
I can't get over how much more fun it is to WRITE on a simple step sequencer (like the one ON the monotribe!).
Is there a way to get that kind of functionality within Ableton?
I can create a region and record into it from my Axiom, but the notes are not quantized on input the way the simple "16 step sequencer" works. I like that on the monotribe I can keep listening to the pattern play, and if I want to input another note, it will overwrite the one previously on that "step." I guess with that, I want the region to act monophonic, like the synth. My goal with using the laptop is to not touch it while playing.
Can I set a region/project to automatically quantize notes on input, I dont want to have to bend over and tell it to quantize my notes after each time I input.
Any help would be appreciated, because I really want to work this way, but it would be nice to do it within live so I can make any length pattern I want, but have the 'feel' of a step sequencer.

There is a quantized on input in one of the pull down menus. Can be eighth sixteenth or thirty second notes
