Studiologic Sledge - thoughts?
Sure, it sounds good and there are all those wonderful knobs on the front panel, but it should be better constructed at that price. The inclusion of wavetables in addition to a VA engine is nice though, and how many yellow polysynths are there out there?

I think there is a Waldorf Blofeld under the hood, someone correct me if I'm wrong. So you could go for the Blofeld instead

I love it. On paper the Gaia I bought prior to it should be better but I have never liked it.

Here is a good review:
It seems like 1/2 of the Blofeld but with nice interface for almost twice the price.
Anything Sledge can do Blofeld can do as well and tons beyond.
Single destination for both aftertouch and Mod Wheel is silly and no velocity control over the tone is unforgivable.

Gorgeous front panel. I think it sounds very good for a VA, certainly better than many other VA's... I would say its close to the Yamaha AN1x, which I consider the "gold standard" among synths that actually sound like an analog synthesizer as opposed to a brassy supersaw honker.
The price is just too much given what else you can buy in that range or for less in the used market.
