Maxi Korg---What's it worth?

Univox Maxi Korg.
While I have no intention of selling this for another 10 years I still like to quietly gloat in my head about the good deal I got.
I am about 8 miles from Manhatten, so I can sell to someone much cooler than me at any time.
So, I am wondering what people have paid for or sold their for and in what condition.
Ebay only has one for sale for too much and one completed that did not sell. So, that's a little inconclusive.
It currently is cosmetically dirty with one chip in the wood.
One key is off track, but appears to work. Should be an easy fix.
Two stubby three way switches are knocked off, which I will temporary fix with a small fine thread metal screw.
I only had about 10 minutes to fiddle with it or my wife would see it and flip out.

In the 10 minutes I observed that it powered on immediately with no noise and that the switches and dials and sliders operated without scratching, but were stiff.
Original owner said he had it repaired prior to last use, but that was 10 years ago.
So, I will pull the cover off, vaccuum, check the connections, tighten anything loose and loosen anything tight with some contact cleaner.
I've seen the usual videos and so forth.
My real goal was the Axxe the guy had, but he included this and a D-50 in the deal. He was very hot on the D-50, which I am keen to try.

I find myself at a point where I really need to get insurance on my stuff.

Exactly half of what you see things selling on eBay for. :D

In all seriousness, things such as condition, location, repairs performed to it, modifications... these things all factor into the price. Asking blindly what the price is will get you a whole bunch of " $1 (including postage)".

A Maxi-Korg that's in great shape (please don't say mint, I get shingles every time someone mentions that) and functionally flawless that you're willing to ship (what part of the world are you in, anywhoo?) might have a better opportunity at fetching a decent sum.

There's eBay completed auctions (not always to be trusted, the mental is very strong)
There's synthprices.blogspot

And then there's our quiet little ring of h**l, here. No idea? List the bloody tart in the FS sub with 'offers' and see what you get...

I guess I should have been more clear.

I'd suggest against using threaded screws to temporarily repair those switches as you might inadvertently compromise the electrical connection and cause yourself even more problems. Gloating about the insane deal you got may be short lived if you end up shorting something and causing irreparable harm.

I would seriously find a tech near you that can attend to the various things it may need; replacement switches, cleaning of sliders (or replacements), and various other items, and go from there. :)

When they are working, they are quite interesting and have their own distinct sound. I miss owning one. Fun, and mostly overlooked.

True true.
It could split it.
There are two three way shorties that are broken off, but one can still switch them.

The key was super easy, I just needed to gently lift up the rear while pushing the front down and push it back then release it. I also did the hokey pokey. But that had nothing to do with the key.
I was going to clean it up inside, but it was late or early... 3 am and I didn't feel like it.
I cleaned the smoke residue off the keys and shook out the jangling things.
A long screw, washer, guitar pick, an old dime, a dead wasp and 1 mouse poop.

I plugged it in and tried to rip it up, but there were two problems... I cannot really rip it up and I took me a while to figure out how to get sound out of it.
It also took me a while to get used to the highest value being at the bottom not at the top.
Transpose switches....

But I finally got some good stuff coming out of it.

there was a Maxi-Korg on the local (S.F. Bay Area) craigslist about a year ago? :dontknow: ]

looked like it was in good shape, asking price was $900 and it took about a month before it sold.

Thank you. Another member PM'd me said about the same.

This thing sounds great! Now that I figured it out a little.

I was planning on holding on to it for several years and parting with it when the time and price is right.
