Problem with JX-3p onboard suqencer and Ableton

Hi.

Recently bought a JX-3P. Really like it.

The only problem is recording the on board sequencer. I am sending a rimshot from maschine to output 3 of my saffire pro 24 into the Seq Trigger In. It fires off the sequencer ok(ish) but there is a latency issue of about half a beat. I'm not sure if I'm missing something fundamental. I've tried using the ableton track delay to no avail. I've starting the sequencer then pressing play in ableton and I have tried starting the sequencer on beat but it skips.Anyone out there had this issue?

i assume you've tweaked/checked the latency(buffer) settings on your audio driver already?
