Same here  Roland is definitely keeping this new piece under tight wraps.

To snub NAMM, generate a marketing campaign with so much hype you'd think they were going to reveal the cure for cancer, and to flout the original x0x in the teaser vids seems like a risky move. If this new box turns out to be digital ROMpler then the synth nerd forums are going to go bonkers.

Also, regarding it being a digital ROMpler: Yeah, they might call it a "virtual analog" but at the end of the day if its digital I'd bet there is wave data [samples] buried in there somewhere.

haha too true, either they think it's something really awesome or it is actually going to be something different from their other stuff. I guess time will tell, although I'm getting pretty sick of waiting.. as are most people.

Or that they realised, they will be late with the prototype for NAMM, and adjusted their marketing, building this whole conspiracy around it. There are things in Heaven and Earth... :)

It would be quite funny if their follow up to the 909 video was called AIRA - MC303.

Regardless of analog or digital, the only real shame would be if these new machines were just emulations of old, with nothing new, I mean if they were just digital emulations it would actually be more accurate to say they are the evolution of the MC 303...

I mean I'm not expecting the V-Synth of drum machines, especially not from roland, but something simple with a real nice sound would be quite lovely.

Although given their preference for making touring/performing equipment, I had a feeling these would be essentially made as touring replacements for people who don't want to carry their older equipment around with them. edit- or people who never had that kind of stuff anyway to feel like they were legit.

Perhaps it will have different sound options, ie analog modelled sounds, sampled sounds, etc. If it had a nice library of sounds and offered multi outs, and 909 style sequencing it could still be quite nice.

well, it doesn't have enough buttons on it to be a revival of the MC303 :D

Don't see one... also don't see 'function' and 'shift' keys and a million labels on the drum pads for them

Wow that's a lot of knobs on that keyboard thing. The whole surface is just a face of knobs and buttons and sliders. Maybe it's a modular kind of thing where you can add in units...or maybe something like Radias.

Well, the teaser is having the intended effect--I'm speculating.
