What synth makes this sound?
It is a quack-type sound, similar, but not exactly like a Prophet series?
A song with it: which is an Indonesian Pop song, maybe it is a Nord Lead? I had a keyboard with a reso sound (a Casio SA-38 Waw Voice, same sound on Casio SA-75).

Re: What synth makes this sound?
It could be almost anything. Sounds like a monosynth from the 80s, like an SH-101. It has that syruppy Roland sounding filter.
What on earth do you need it for?
Nothing like the old duckfart patch...

It could be just about anything.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Maybe it's an actual fart sampled into a Fairlight then played at the highest key.

It's been done before - see Line #8...Bitexion wrote:Maybe it's an actual fart sampled into a Fairlight then played at the highest key.

I believe this is a copy of a disk used by Simon and Garfunkel for one of their tours. I have no clue if they used that sample during the actual performances.

I just did a quick search and I finally found a photo of Simon and Garfunkel with a Fairlight - here they are from 1982 with a Fairlight behind them:

I was thinking Mk1 Odyssey? Has that really shrill highend. Not sure.
Though what's more interesting to me is why anyone would want to know enough to start a thread about it.

It's an Access Virus Kb.
My Access Virus Kb has a sound in it that sounds similar.

Re: What synth makes this sound?
I bought an AKAI AX73 last week....and now I am programming some sounds in it that I found online.
I must say that the Donald Duck sound comes pretty close too!

Re: What synth makes this sound?
I listened to other songs with the quack sound and it is polyphonic, at least duophonic.
Edit: at least 3 or 4 note polyphonic. It could be a Casiotone, but I don't know any musicians other than Casiotone for the painfully alone using them. Also, I know there is an M1, D50 and Mellotron (for house piano, bells, and strings, the strings could be a Solina as well) in there. Also, it is in songs before the Virus KB (late 80's 91-96)
