I'd be more cheesed off about this if I weren't already MIDI-ing mine to my Prophet-600 to get an extra two octaves in addition to the full-sized keys.

Still has the PPC pads...so I doubt they added MIDI support for bend or mod
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Saw one while in Japan a few weeks ago. I assumed it was for their market only. Didn't think much about it, I was just surprised how almost every shop that sold synths had at least two Midimoogs.

But have Korg sorted out the LFO/envelope re-trigger problem??? I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Was that really a deal breaker? Did you let anyone at Korg know about the problem?

Yes and yesJabberwalky wrote:Was that really a deal breaker? Did you let anyone at Korg know about the problem?
Korg UK offered to modify mine (while I had it) but they SHOULD have got it right in pre-production - It really is noticeable from the original... and very annoying.

Gotcha. Just not familiar with the Odyssey, and I never really use the repeat functions on other synths. I'm surprised you didn't go ahead with the factory mod!

Jabber,
I used the keyboard repeat a lot when I had my Oddy so it not working properly was just one more reason for me to skip over the Karp.

Wonder if it'll be easy to bring out the various signals to a patch panel?

Re: Desktop Korg Arp Odysseys
Most of the CV in/outs are available directly from the selector switches - it should be quite easy to insert a switched jack for each of the signals. That sloping panel at the front looks like an ideal place to put the patch pointsStab Frenzy wrote:Wonder if it'll be easy to bring out the various signals to a patch panel?
One of the good things with the module, is that you can now pitchbend via MIDI (no mention of Mod), which means Korg have changed a few things.
Time for me to reconsider, and at $599 (£450) it looks like a pretty good deal.

There is a God after all...Broadwave wrote:you can now pitchbend via MIDI
Looked at the MIDI spec and see there is no support for mod wheel. All that PPC allowed was vibrato (it was in parallel to any LFO pitch modulation) and my old whiteface had no PPC anyway...I can live with that.
Manual is here.

Re: Desktop Korg Arp Odysseys
It's certainly one of the nicest looking desktop module, I really like to color scheme of the white version. It's going to look cool with Live and Push 2.
