Analog Tape Recording

Post by rdemon » Mon Jun 18, 2007 7:57 pm

I'm considering getting into Analog Tape recording to get a warm sound. I was wondering if you any of you guys have done it and if you have some samples of how synths sound with digital recording and then with analog.

I've recorded a jazz trio on analogue tape, sounded beautiful. The keyboardist used We a Roland XP-10, rhodes type patch...

Dont think I can post a sample, not within my rights.

This was using a top of the line Studer 2" 24 track, absolutely gorgeous. If I could I would record everything to analogue tape first, then bounce into Protools.

I have recorded a piece of music on my Fostex X-15 Multitracker
It has really warm sound and the equalizer is amazing! Even a cold vst string kind of sound is sounding hot

Ps: I Doesn't have any sound samples
A synthesizer will be for you what you want it to be...
