i have to agree. i placed my first order with them a couple weeks ago for some guitar stuff and Gator case for my microKORG. they were polite, fast, friendly and that free shipping & no tax thing was nice. i haven't bought any effects from them yet, but when i need one, i'll be checking them out first.

i have to put in a good word for sweetwater as well. very professional. could this be the only big dealer who actually pays employees well enough to be able to hold onto the competant ones?

I've never bought anything from Sweetwater but I have heard nothing but good about them.

I'll offer an alternative based on my personal experience:

American Musical Supply

I go to this place first when I need something. I kind of stumbled upon them and have had absolutely top notch and fast service on everything I have gotten through them including my Fusion 6HD, Handsonic, a Les Paul and lots of other stuff like stands and outboard gear. The only time I buy anything somewhere else is if they don't carry it.

They also tend to have a nice supply of used boss effects.

they also have their own brand, Audible Disease, which i fully support.
(Audible Disease makes a nice feedback pedal the rupture)

Seconding the recommendation of Audiolines.

I just recently attempted to buy an open box mini Kaoss pad off them. Sadly the unit had a missing knob so they offered to sale me a new non-open box version. I managed to talk them down to 160 out the door and in addition to this they gave me a 15% discount on my next purchase. While the processing time isn't as fast as American Musical Supply, I still got the mini KP in a very reasonable amount of time.

well, audiolines seems to be ignoring non-US customers, I've emailed three times now regarding a Mini-KP, but I've gotten no reply. a shame, as they seem to have nice prices and lots of interesting stuff

I second BYOC. I have a half-dozen of their pedals, and they have incredibly good component quality. Teflon wire, top-notch switches and jacks. My favorite pedal of theirs is their 5 knob compressor. It has built-in parallel compression, as was discussed in another thread on here. Their wah replacement kit is fab as well.

Highly recommended.

More accolades for The Mad Ape here. I usually buy new stuff from Sweetwater, but they don't carry Godlyke. I actually found out about The Mad Ape from your post, gtivr6fan.

I bought a Godlyke Power-All basic kit from them. I didn't see any tracking info for 2-3 days, so I e-mailed them to follow up on the status of the order. They responded right away that they were backordered on it, so they had sent out a Deluxe Power-All via priority mail for the same price as the Basic kit and with no extra charge for the priority mail. That's incredible service.
