Nice multiFX box for live use?

I'm after a nice live multiFX box, only needs to have a single effect active at once, but needs to have nice effects (not toylike, option to change more than a couple parameters)

I tried the kp3, but despite being a cool interface, I was dissappointed with the effects (very little option to edit them besides the parameters locked to the pad, also sounds kinda cheap)

is the efx1000 any better?

something beyond DJ boxes. . .what about the new adrenalinn?

Kind of effects im interested in are delays/sample-looping/sound-mangling up type things, rather than the 'realism' kind of effects (reverb etc)

maybe an array of pedals/small boxes would work? any thought on these?

I've got an alesis ineko and it's pretty good..
plus a few stomp-boxes (delays, compressor, distortion, etc.)

+1 for ineko

Not so sure about the ineko .. seems just as limited as the KP3 except it has knobs instead of xy pad..

all seems a little too 'set in stone' for me

Nope, if he did not like KP3, he will not like Ineko for sure!
Sorry to hear that, I love my KP3. If you are looking for some good effects+looping device, try new roland samplers, they look quite cool.

Sorry to hear that, I love my KP3. If you are looking for some good effects+looping device, try new roland samplers, they look quite cool.

I had an sp-404 too

the effects weren't bad, but they weren't crazy enough for me.. . Also you can't sample while playing other samples, everything has to stop, then you record, etc. . so while you can do some amazing things with it, its not so great in a live setting

+1 for an army of pedals. no single effects box can touch the depth, ease of use and configurability that comes from a pile of pedal effects. you will spend a lot of money on 9v batteries though.
