odd microphones

What are some vocal mics that can impart so weirdness to the vocals?

I have used hydrophones, but am looking for some cheap fun here...
Brains can be used like a "stress ball," but only once.

You could always try the wiring a speaker backwards trick...

I see Russian mics on ebay from time to time. I doubt they impart any special weirdness per se, but as with all electronics, there is probably special characteristics. If you’re looking for vocal weirdness I would suggest using vocal processors pushed beyond normalcy along with effects. You could also try doing weird things with mics like putting it in a plastic bag in a fish bowl and recording sound through that.

I wonder how hard it could be to make a DIY hydrophone....hmmm....
