Rumour has it that the TM-1 can do stuff besides destroy signals.
I get the feeling that, like the Sherman or the M-Res, it's sold as a signal destroyer and so there aren't demos of the full range of what it's capable of.
Does anyone out there have demos which prove me right?
Anyone have any demos of the TM-1 that aren't just noise?

Metasonix TM-1?
I don't have an demos anymore, but it is capable of subtle wave shaping. I only used it for subtle stuff... what are you expecting from it?
Do a google search for Muff Wigglers Forum and you should be able to find some demos...or ask someone to make one.

I had a look at Muffwiggler's site, there are a few TM-1 demos here and there, but they're pretty stock-standard metasonix demos :)
I think what I want is for it to sound like it is described in the Keyboard review:
'A harmonically rich yet dark distortion .... A stunning ugly/beautiful sound'
Something where I can go from a near-bypass state which just warms a sound, through to something which makes whatever I put through it sound broken.
It would also be nice if it could distort, but preserve some subtleties of the source material, but I suspect this is not the unit for that.
I'm not totally sure on this yet - I'm thinking of possibly selling my PH16 and getting something else - this seems like the most interesting something else going right now. At the same time, I'm saving for a Mk2 MnM, so it's the usual 'too many choices' thing. And then there's whatever NAMM will bring in Jan...

The TM-1 will do this with certain material...stuff like a saw wave or whatever. I'm telling you, ask someone at that forum to post an example of a more subtle use of the unit and someone will comply... they did it for me for the TM-7. The units that can't really do subtle are the TX-1 and TX-2...those are just noisy no matter what.GeneralBigbag wrote: It would also be nice if it could distort, but preserve some subtleties of the source material, but I suspect this is not the unit for that.
