I need inputs but dont want a mackie 32 channel...just wondering if anyone knows if yamaha makes good mixing boards. If anyone uses one let me know how it holds up. Sound qual and durability. Theres a 24 channel yamaha mg24 for 899.00 at sweetwater i was looking at and cant find any reviews online.

The Yamaha desks are really good value for money IMO. I've used them a fair bit, from the little ones up to the 32 channel, and they've always been quite usable. The EQ is decent, better than most others around that price range. Would be better for live work if there were two swept mids, but that'd put the price up obviously.

This might sound crazy, but I'd recommend the MG 24 over the Mackie 24ch 8-Bus. That's taking into account that they're cheaper, the sound quality is fairly similar.

Also, this should be in Sound Production.
