Rewiring the paging microphone

Post by tallowwaters » Thu Dec 13, 2007 11:26 pm

was rummaging through the old junk at work and found a mic like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Telex-253-Desk-Micr ... p1638.m118

just an old paging mic. the one i found is a bit different, even has a copper alloy (?) body. very weird.

anyhow, it has the 5 horseshoes at the end of the cable. any idea how or if i can wire it up for xlr. (hint: i cant read schematics for s**t)

i did pop the base off and found 2 cords trailing from the capsule. it gets convoluted at the switch and even more so down the cable. i would like to bypass all that.
Brains can be used like a "stress ball," but only once.
