I watched those demo videos yesterday and I can't say that I was really impressed with the Pro-One run into the ensemble effect. But I am beyond knocked out at the demo of the RS-505 itself. What an utterly beautiful sound!
I can get close to the stringer vibe with the Alpha Juno on chorus II, re-chorused with the Alesis Ineko (lets you control the amount of detune in each speaker) plus the Alesis Faze (which will do asynchronous stereo phasing). But even then it's not like a good old-school stringer.
That old ensemble effect

A little track i made last month (nothing serious...), more in the same musical direction like Moog Cook Book (but my version is a real pale copy of this super group)

It should be stereo...
Instruments used :
Roland RS-505 Paraphonic for all pads and string sounds, and the bass sound on Final Countdown.
ARP Omni for the Jump Theme (with some LFO...)
Roland Juno 106 for the sequence in the background
Roland TR-808 and CR-8000 for drum sounds.
Moog Prodigy for all the rest.
The RS-505 has something really "majestic" in the sound. It sounds very wide and deep. I bought mine in Japan for a very correct price (300$)

It is much easier to be a good equipment purchaser than to be a great musician.
