Hi.
I have been told the KORG mini-KP severely reduces output volume of whatever input is run through it. Before I buy one as an effects unit for my synths, I was hoping I could get some front line stories and advice from any and all here who have used -- and especially recorded -- with the unit.
Thanks.

I just picked up a mini-KP recently. Haven't actually recorded anything through it yet. It does seem a bit quieter than my KP-1 (though it seems less noisy too). I have it on one of the 2 FX sends on my mixer, so I just turn the sends going to the mini-KP up a little higher, doesn't seem like too much of a problem.
I guess if you ran it in series with other FX units it might be more problematic, but I don't think it's such a drastic volume drop that you couldn't find a way to work with it.

I have the unit.
I have noticed this. I usually am able to fix it by increasing the gain on the mixer channel. my setup is usually
mixer send 1 -> mini-kp IN (just L, I use it in mono)
mini kp out -> free mixer channel.
then channels I want to send to the KP just go through FX1 send.. and if I want to have 0 dry sound I use my mixer's PRE-FX function and then mute the track.. and then the KP output can be EQ'd and balanced to my heart's content instead of just having an FX return gain.
With that setup I haven't noticed real problems recording with it.

Thanks, mates! Based on your feedback, it sounds like the mini-KP will be
a) a useful sonic addition without too much tech hassle
b) curing my summer 2008 G.A.S. attack
