The Best way to make tracks play in sync in CUBASE

Post by aciddance » Sun Feb 01, 2009 12:31 am

Ciao!

There's one such an easy task - to make 2 different audio fragments with various tempos play in sync in my Cubase session. BPM of both files is unknown and as far as music is very groovy and "IDMish"- automatic BPM detectors're useless... So I want to know what is your best and easiest algorithm of making such things?

I believe my way of doing that is toooo slow and stupid:
I open both tracks in NI Tracktor DJ software, manually adjust tempo of files till perfect sync, then render each file to disk and reopen it with CUbase.

it would be so nice to discover the same feature inside Cubase or even find a VST plugin for that!

THNX 4 HELP!
My friends are XBase 09 | Alesis HR16 & SR18 | Akai XR10 | Quasimidi Polymorph | SH-2 | Mono/Poly | DX-21 | Sherman | Lell22 | 606 & 808 | DDM-220 | EHX | KORE 2 | Microwave II |

Use your ears and your brain. Work out where the first downbeat of the bar is, then the first downbeat of the next bar, then calculate the BPM from that.
