Recording Live - An Open Mic Night set

Okay so I've been asked to record some bands at a Open Mic night down the local pub. I've been brainstorming for the best possible setup and this is what I've come up with as a plan:

Now I realise that quite a few of you here have had a good deal of experience with live sound so I'd love to know if this plan could be improved upon. The reason I'm using the auxiliary sends for recording is because they are on 1/4 inch phone plugs whilst the group outputs are XLR - I'd prefer to record into the line ins on the Digi 002 and set the levels on the desk and since I don't have any XLR -> phone plug cables I'd have to record through the 002's microphone pre-amps and that'd be me introducing another unnecessary gain stage.

One last thing - according to the 200B user guide all of the outputs on the desk are ground compensated except the main mix outputs which are electronically balanced. Should I use balanced or unbalanced cables to patch the aux sends into my line ins? If so how should they be wired?

Any suggestions or constructive criticism would be great!
