Bass sound prominent in UK Hardcore?

Post by Oavatos » Fri Nov 13, 2009 6:54 pm

so i've been experimenting and nothing i've done compares to the sound I hear that's rather prominent in CLSM or Cube::Hard related tracks.

I think it starts around 20 seconds in on this track. but it goes on throughout the entire track. You can hear it throughout a lot of UK drum and bass and happy hardcore

That would be what is known as a Reese bass. Do a search for that, you'll find loads of descriptions and tutorials.

Kevin Saunderson's DX-100 and Joey Beltram's Alpha Juno really started a whole mess of good and bad music. These sounds bloomed a little later than the 303 in Chicago, but were almost as poular.
