External Inputs on my Behringer MX8000?

What are they used for? Can I can plug a submixer into the External Inputs on my MX8000? Any help would be great.

You can plug any line-level audio source into them.

Ah, so my submixer would be output to CD along with everything else from channel A and channel B? Is that right?
