How do you find out the part number of a friggin knob?
To the point - anybody know where I can find Lexicon LXP knobs? I don't know that I've ever spotted similar on other gear.

Service manuals usually have part numbers for the manufacturer's stock, which may or may not be their own doing. I just get lookalikes from component suppliers. Here in the UK I use Rapid, Farnell, RS, ESR and Maplin, so whatever the US equivalent is. They'll have a few web pages dedicated to knobs. Ahem.
On a more technical level, look for shaft diameter, whether it's splined, serrated (and how many), length, and whether it's grub-screw fixed or push-on.
There's also a noticeable difference between 6mm and 6.35mm (ie, 1/4") - you need the right one. A 6mm knob will generally not push on to a 6.35mm shaft. A 6.35mm grubscrew knob will fix to a 6mm shaft but you'll get cammed rotation.
Could you post a pic of the inside of the knob and the shaft it goes on?
How close are
these?

Your link was on the money, sir.
I tried browsing a few parts places, but it was a pretty daunting task. They almost had more knobs than this forum.

Excellent. Those knobs are made by Re'an and should be widely available if you use their own part code. Any trouble, drop me a line.
