Anyone owned or used one these A&H desks at all ?
I have the chance to grab one locally for a good price, although there isn't much reviews out there in internet land on this particular desk even on youtube. I also would like to know more about it's -
* EQ - what is it like - musical, flat etc
* Sound - clean, crisp, noisy or dull ?
* Known problems, like the desk itself or even the power supply etc. I'm handy with a soldering iron just in case i may need replace parts like faders etc or anything else.

The EQ is quite transparent, but adds some transient shimmer. Sound is clean, only issue can be slight overheating...if the unit is kept too hot or has been used to long. But a good band for the buck.

I know a guy who's had a number of A&H mixers over the years. According to what he has said, they're very good and generally reliable but can be very difficult to repair if something does go wrong.
Still, I quite fancy one myself.

Re: Allen & Heath GS3
Cheers guys... i noticed sound on sound reviewed an A&H GS3V, technically both the GS3 and GS3V are the same, they gave it a good review, but that was back in mid 90's.
Only shortcomings were the 3 band EQ on the channel strips, they found the dual-concentric pots are bit confusing, but it saves space on the desk. Will see what happens when i eventually get this GS3.
