Hi guys!
I have this yamaha mt4x newly added on my set up and I have a problem with playback level of it.
When I play the tape that I recorded with mt4x, compared to other published music tapes their level is fine. but when I play it on the tape deck or whatever player, I could barely hear the stuff that I recorded.
Is there anyone can help me with this?
Yamaha mt4x(multi track recorder) anyone?

Are you using the same or any noise reduction on both machines? Are both running at the same speed?

The MT4X uses DBX noise reduction. Almost no stereo cassette decks have that, only Dolby noise reduction. So for starters if you are trying to use the MT4x to record stereo stuff to play back on other decks, shut off the DBX.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Playing back a dbx encoded signal will sound loud though, because it's a compansion system.
Are your sure that you've set the monitor bus correctly to stereo? Doing that wrong can cause "quiet" playback. It's a little confusing on this machine. And it's definitely not jntuitivr if you've never used an analogue mixer before, because the pan controls could are also used to assign the buss. RTFM! By that I mean carefully go through the steps in the first few pages of the manual.
That caught me out recently when I was copying some old tapes. It's easy to forget how this machine works.

Thank you all!
It wasn't the matter of dbx, It just worked by setting the monitor bus to stereo but I still didn't get how this machine works.
gotta read the manual letter by letter from the begining
thank you guys anyway have a nice day!
