606 vs 707 vs 808 vs 909 vs Drumstation vs JoMox vs software

Im trying to choose between the two and cant really choose
The 606 has a built in sequencer but the sounds are not as good.
The drum station has the 909 sounds but doesn't have a built in sequencer.
Ok now that that is settled this is now about the battle of the tr series and the machines that emulate them.

Buy the Drumstation, start saving up again, get a Korg Electribe R and use that. It'll be able to handle more than 16 steps and probably stand up better to abuse, too.

Looking at your other gear I think you'll feel more comfortable with a drumstation, it sounds great an d It's a lot more versatile than a 606.

I could probably get an electribe r for about $150 and a drumstation for about $200 - $300

I'd take a TR-606 over a Drumstation and a Korg ER-1 any day of the week. The 606 is ill.

The drum station is what you want. But the 606 is a lovable toy that's simple and fun. I sold my drum station long ago, but the 606 will always be close to my heart. Sometimes I spend a morning with it in the park, just the two of us, batteries and headphones.

Put it through a distortion pedal or filter then... The drum station isn't all that great either IMHO. I think I'd rather have an MPC with goldbaby sample packs than that.

just cos the drumstation tries is a 909/808 emulator. . does not mean it sounds awesome..

I looked into getting one, but honestly from the demos I heard, nepheton + drumazon plugins sounded better.

Ive tried those VST before but It seems like it would be better to use hardware. For performances I would be using ableton live, how would I sync my hardware instruments up to it? So many questions.

I'd definately take a 606 over a 707 any day. The 707 is OK, but I don't understand its recent jump in value on eBay (over $200).

606 has analog drum sounds. 707 is 12 bit PCM drum samples. There are plenty of demos for both on YouTube.
