micro q or micro modular or juno 106
hi guys
I'm looking for an affordable all around synth and I think this two options are very good value for the money.
i had the nord 2x which I loved .
I need a synth for leads, pads and harmonies (I have Waldorf pulse for bass).
I'll appreciate any reviews or comparsion between the two and also open minded for other recomandations...\
thanks

Re: micro q or micro modular
For what you want to do i think the Micro Q would be better suited. Would easily cover pads, leads and harmonies, probably at the same time.
The Micro Modular is great but you won't get that much polyphony out of it (say more than a couple of voices, often just one) other than with very simple sounds. Its real strengths are in doing crazy 'experimental' stuff, effects and sequenced things I would say.

thanks for the help
a new player is in the game ...I can buy a roland juno 106 in the same price I can buy one of the micros.
what do you guys say about the juno in comparison to the micros ..
can it be an all around player and be a good set with the pulse or I need more diversity that the Q will give me.

The question then is do you want to run everything 'live' or will you be recording and overdubbing?
The Juno is monotimbral, one sound at a time.
If that's OK and the price is good and it's in good condition it would probably be a good buy.

I would agree with that being a good suggestion.

if you like 80ies analog synth sounds, junos are great for pads and short leads

Wouldn't bother with the 106 because of the dead voice issues. You'd be better off with a 60 and a MIDI -> DCB converter I think.
