Studiologic sledge vs Acess Virus KB

Trying to decide between Studiologic's new Sledge or the Access Virus KB. This would be a 3rd board for my rig in a cover band, doing pop, rock, house, techno, etc.

Which would you choose?

For the price of the Sledge you can get a Virus C or Ti keys...

Assuming that is true concerning the price, what about features? sonic capabilities? reliability? etc

The Sledge is $1599, where i could find a price for it. The Midi Store lists them as in stock, nowhere else. The synth engine on the Sledge is based in the Blofeld- so it sound like a Blofeld, more than likely. Reliability? Who knows, I think they are not actually out yet.

The Virus of various varieties has a pretty good reputation for reliability- look at the number of 'big acts' using them live, as well as a lot of smaller electronica acts.

Get a Virus TI keyboard or Polar.

Alex, I think the TI is around $2500, I can get the sledge for around $1400, maybe a KB for around $1200...

A Ti keys is around $1200. A Ti 2 keys is $2500. A Kb is around $800.

Pretty much what Ashe said. So don't pay $1200 for a Virus KB. I have no idea who's asking that much, but you can get the desktop version of the Virus B for $500-$600.

Yes, its the same sound engine as a Blofeld. If you look over there -> you'll see I own a Blofeld. It is a knobby blofeld.

If you are in an are where a Virus later than a B is going to cost more than the Sledge price i could find, then in all likelihood, the Sledge will cost more than that too.
