could you post pics of it, I was wondering about its overall sound. By the few black and white photos I have seen, its seems it maybe deeper than most of the ensembles of its time.

I will have to take some photo's...

It's in my studio for the first time since i bought it a few years ago, I had to totally recap the mx and spend months going over bad joints and repairs.
There's a lot of electronics inside but it's generally well put together.

The synth section ...1 vco / LPF / And 2 ADSR's plus noise /lfo/ glide ect.

String section....Various strings / brass with a low pass resonant filter and AR envelope.

2 ensemble effects are very nice plus a wicked leslie effector..(how many synths have 'full rotor 'on it)
You can also modulate the voice with an LFO.
Glide control.

This string section is as good if not better than any stringer i have...Certainly very jarre..
The piano also sits in this section...Quite nice.

The bass synth is very nice and deep, Decay control and 3 filter settings.

Every section has it's own output and individual tuning.

The MX3000 is a unique nice sounding synth and of course very rare.

The interfacing is interesting. Gate in and out with Sync in and out...?

I wonder what the sync does..?

Sam, I found the following details on its rear panel in an old Contemporary keyboard magazine.

ch.3 sync output for interfacing signal from ch.3 (solo) synthesizer through external VCO.
ch.3 sync input for external voltage source for solo synthesizer.
ch.3 gate output for ch.3 synthesizer and keyboard, to be used as a gate trigger when interfaced with external synthesizer VCF.
ch.3 gate input for external gate trigger source for solo synthesizer.

From what I understand it's just a CV/gate interface for the solo synthesizer. What do you think?

It doesn't work with 1v per octave...If i think back i used to have a multivox M75 that it did communicate with the mx.

I will check the octave voltages.

I am digging up the old mx3000 thread.......I need a new volume slider.....it’s some sort of stereo pot....but where can I find a replacement...?

Are you sure it's stereo? What's the resistance? Is it log or linear (you can measure for this)? What are the dimensions?

Armed with this info, you can refine your search.
