Suggestion on setup?

Post by just_cast » Fri Sep 05, 2008 2:10 am

Ok so im looking for something to compliment my akai mpc 2000 setup. I have a mic , and vox continental organ. I feel so limited and ive been coming up with some melodies, id like to have horns in the mix but dont know what i should be looking for, i posted earlier about midis and racks (im looking for some right now). A Midi Keyboard and akai mpc sounds like that would be great for a small little room studio. just thought if any one else has a suggestion?

Budget?

Why not just sample the horns.

SL-1200 would look really good next the MPC

I do sample some horns, but id like to come up with some original melodies. My budget is 800-900 and i have a vestax turntable but the SL-1200 is really nice! =)!

you can dig for samples where notes are being held for a certain amount of time. Adjust the pitch for the 12 notes over 12 pads. Grab a small midi key controller to trigger the pads and press the keys for the melodies.

Roland JV's can be snatched up for less $300 if you want to go the ROM route.

There is always software....
