Boehm Soundlab modular.. I'm getting one.

So I am going to get a Boehm Soundlab modular, these are rare modular synths from germany built in the early 80's.

Built on CEM chips, everything I've read so far has been positive and some people say it's better than the roland system 100m soundwise which is what I've been thinking about getting. Then I found one article written in german that says the soundlab is finicky and the keyboard doesn't track well and it's a cheap build and they thought the ring mod sucked.

I wish I knew more about these, kind of seems hard to pass up though since it's so rare. I've only found one youtube demo and the one I'm looking at buying is very similar. I've been wanting a modular and this looks perfect, will be around the price of a basic roland system 100m. But this has the built in keyboard and case which is a big bonus for me.

Does anyone know anything about these?

Should I sell off my ms-20 and ms-10 to buy it?

I've always wondered about these myself. If you get it you will have to tell us more about it. $2k+ seems a bit steep to me but synth prices are crazy and you'll probably never come across one again.

yeah if I get it I'll definitely post some good demos.

I have finally realized though how spoiled we synth guys are tho, I mean 2K for a vintage instrument that sounds great is pennies compared to what guitarists and bassists pay. I'm looking at buying a pre cbs fender jazz bass right now but it's way more than 2K... and doesn't even have patch storage.

Hi nadafarms,
went in my basement and dug out my old Dr. Böhm Soundlab Synthesizer... I have build it myself from the electronic kits they have sold in the early 80s, but since it was only monophone i didnt use it very much... its still working, but the keyboard response is not ok (it does not always sense a pressed key, and if you use it in duophone mode, this is really a p.i.t.a.). Still have the original documentation and plans; if you need some more information: drop me a pm.
and by the way: i´m not going to sell this old b***h.. [-X
