hey what's up up? how you doing vse fellas. i am looking at buying a mixer because, i am want to add out board effects guitars pedals, and such. i already have a motu traveler to route everything to the computer, and i ran out of analog input it have 8 in and out. i was asking a sells person in sweetwater to list me my options i need like 16 ins and, i was looking at the mackie 1204zl, but talking to him he tells me what about another motu interface like the, ultralite, which has 8 ins and outs and has better quality and also i has individual outs, and the mixer only has stereo out, but for what i want to integrate out board gear which you guys think is a better way to integra my synths, and effects to my set up. with a mixer or another audio interface.

i want to record with the sounds sounding, the way i want it, with pedals effects and outboard gear. and when it comes time to mixing and final ajudsment i probably get that done in my daw.

i know i wil enjoy, having the hang on controls in the mixer.

Hunt on the web for a used Mackie CR1604. It's not the greatest board in the world, but it's easy to find, it meets your requirments, and when you're ready to move up, you can probably sell it for about what you paid for it.

Adding more I/O to your computer and doing your mixing "in the box" is another idea. But if you're recording a number of tracks at one time, your computer has to be up for it. Also, if you go this way, you probably won't be satisified with your workflow until you get a control surface. All this will probably wind up costing more than a cheap mixer, especially if you have to upgrade your computer. You had to decide if it's worth it to you.

yeah i do want to have a mixer, i have never work with analog mixer, i have always work with the set up i has now which is everything to the computer, and i am not that satisface with the workflow, if i have a proper control surface i am sure it would have being another different experiences, so yeah about how much those the mackie cr1604 goes for, and how many ins and outs does it has.

i see a yamaha mg 166cx for 250 is that agood deal, is that also a good mixer.

i am use to mix in dp is an analog mixer any easier, and how easy is it to route inserts effects on an analog mixer.
