909 or 808 for under $1,000????

Ive heard that allot of people have gotten tr-909s for under $1,000 even as low as $500 is this possible? Same with 808. If it is true than I am going to start saving up rite now!

don't hold your breath, they're not coming down in prices anytime soon.

An 808 has sold for 3000$ on eBay recently, and none have sold for less than 1200$.

The 909 goes for at least 1000$, usually 1200+.

I doubt that is true unless the seller is desperate to get some quick cash (stolen, make rent, buy drugs, etc.)

Current eBay trends show price of 909's does seem to have dropped slightly but not under $1000. 808's, however, have risen considerably.

Like the guys above said you won't get either an 808 or 909 for the prices you have stated. You will get software versions of them for less than $500 though, like drumazon 909, and nepheton 808. The Hardware versions no.

I seen a 909 listed on craigslist for 800 but the ad sounded skeptical and location was a neighborhood known for robberies and other illicit s**t...

If you can't break a thousand get an older jomox for hardware. I want to get a jomox but for the time being d16's program does the job nicely.

For under a grand is possible but you are going to have to wait and hope you are lucky. Real lucky. Like buying one off someones relative that thinks its an old computer or fax machine lucky.

Years ago ours was acquired for a price so low heads would asplode into a nuclear cloud of rage.

Yes! It IS possible! - I just discovered a clip from a documentary explaining how you can get an 808 or 909 for those prices! Here's a link to the clip from the documentary:

Amazing stuff! I'm going to try to use this method to get a Jupiter 8 for $500!

it's possible, like robotheroes said if you're lucky. watch like a hawk. i bought my 808 and a CSQ-600 together for $800 on ebay, but that was about a year and a half ago. BIN price i dove on, old guy who'd had them since they were new & just threw the price w/o looking into it.
