doesn't matter the format, it's the fun factor that counts ..and I'd render it to mp3 to have in my mp3-player anyway, so that's cool now, let's find out if I can have the ESX run through the KP3 while at the same time have the KP3 play back goofy voice-samples? oh c**p, sometimes I forget that the MDUW can load samples as well fun times

anyway great demo, I'll add the VF-1 (that I've noticed Tallowwaters have spoke warm of for some time), to my ever growing "someday"-list

yeah, AFAIK, there is no other "true" bit-crusher out there with CV ins/outs for that price. Doepfer's module is cheaper (and better equipped), but... you have to have a modular to use it! I was almost tempted to buy one of those little portable cases just to get the crusher and maybe a delay unit + env/lfo... would be a pretty dope little effects unit.

using a source triggered envelope on the sample rate of the ABC-1 gives some pretty nice in-time crunch sweeps.

I am a huge Fever Ray fan (saw the first of the two NYC shows!). I am pretty sure they are using a TC Helicon product. I think it is the VoiceLive. It is discussed in the Pitchfork interview from a few months ago. I have been looking into the VoiceWorksPlus myself, as it seems to have more modeling effects. It is $$$ though. Perhaps the output on the TC box can run into something that will add the desired grunge before going to the mixer?

Just as I finished buying an ABC from Frisco, a Geiger Counter popped up for $180 new in box and shipped so I thought that was a good deal.

Gonna put these beasts head to head and see which one I like better.

Damn... yeah, I saw that and I guess I just was being passive that day please let us know what the differences are... I might just get one elsewhere I saw for pretty cheap to a/b... the WMD looks like it has a much wider sample rate range i.e. it goes to 56khz instead of 8... but conversely, 260hz isn't that low, and i'm not sure how low the ABC goes... it seems pretty "slow" at the lowest rate.

The main effect I'm interested in is modulating things, and the basic "grit" sound... anything going through the abc immediately sounds gritty and noisy, so it seems like it might work better for modulated cv sample rates, rather than as a "aliasing-inducing effect"...

beside the cv modulation. did you try your s-612 as a preamp with to much gain for such grit and noise?
