UC-33 as controller for hardware synths

is anyone using the evolution UC-33 controller to take control on hardware synths without using a computer. i am wondering if it is a good alternative to the bcr-2000. if not what would be a good alternative?

what about the onboard programibility , software editor, sysex support? is there a learn function.

anyone had good or bad experiences with it?

i want to use it primarly with : mopho, matrix 6r, mks-7, and maybe motif rack es, dx7

just found the answer . no sysex

. good for the mopho but not the matrix6 .

i'll check if the mks-7 needs sysex. i think it does.

i need an alternative for the matrix 6 and the mks-7. any sugestions? the bcr seems to do the job but i would like to have other options.

I had the uc-33e..i sold it because it didn't send sysex...it's also got a really low build quality...it's still a great value if you need a lot of knobs for computer applications.

Novation controllers and Behringer are suitable for controlling hardware synths as they are far more programmable and diverse in what they send out.

yeah . i was starting to consider de novation remote sl serie. just realised they could be used for this . the "zero" is nice but i am hesitating thinking maybe i should get the 61 note version and enjoy the nice key feel and after touch when using my rackmount synths.

Novation SL can send SYSEX and the LCD screen reminds me what control what on the hardware synth. The less fun part is that Novation doesn't carry hardware synth template on their website.

FYI- The Matrix 6 is really sluggish with external midi controller, real time edits are sloppy due to the slow internal cpu that controls midi cc, so dont blame the controller its the synths fault

Even in the manual it is stayed
How yours would not is mistery!
I m using it to use JX8p and Alpha juno with system exclusive messages
I know 12 years later but as this comes up when someone searches about it why not to put my 2 cents

bumping for the resurection of this thread as it clearly states in the UC33 manual it handles sysex messages.
how are you controlling the alpha juno with the UC-33?

how did you program the sysex needed for it?
