I need a MAIN board

Post by computron » Thu Mar 18, 2010 9:27 pm

currently in my set up for synths are

Korg Polysix
Kawai Sx240
Kawai SX-210
Korg Dw8000
Korg poly 61
Virus B
Korg ms2000 B
Korg microkorg
Nord micro modular
Casio cz 1000 times two
Yamaha DX-21
Yamaha DX-100
Yamaha Cs1x
Roland Jv1080
Yamaha tx81z
and a few more racks and groove box type synths(5 tribes and a rm1x)

I feel I am missing a true keyboard as my main keyboard  .Does not have to have a sampler or sequencer I use my mpc for that.I am instrested in the V synth as it seems neat or would I get more from something like a DSI poly synth? It can be analog or digital. I feel I am misisng something as my main board. The roland Jd 800 tempts me but I feel that if I got it I would still have this needy feeling.Maybe a Virus upgrade to Polar or Ti or indigio llo?? Maybe a Blofled ? Based on what I have what would you sugguest as good a main board to add to this set up? The few must's are being midi ,able to store patchs and programability.Good effects would be nice but not a must. Velocity and aftertouch a plus but again not mandatory.I would be greatful for any suggestions ?

I have to recommend that you seriously look into the V-Synth, I have it as my main "pole position" synth, great keyboard action makes it a perfect master controller, brilliant effects particularly reverb combined with the external input make it fantastic as an FX return in the studio or something different for live. And just in its function as a traditional analog emulator it is more than adequate, although many may have their own preferences. I also love it how you can combine samples with VA synthesis and tweak a large range of unusual sounds.

Anyway, just have a try of one if you can - a great synth for sure ;)

I like how you put that your "pole position" synth .That is like something I am looking for and why I mention the V synth first.I got only your response to this I would have thought some people with some more modern synths would have some suggestions.I would use this in the studio but also as my pole position synth Live.I have not got a modern keyboard in some time the Micro and Ms korg's were the last.I got quite a few synths but i still would like a new main stage board. Thanks for your take on the V synth I realy need to try one out.
