Polymoog should I buy one

Haha yeah... Ive personally never played one but you should buy it, try it, and if you don't like it try to profit on it.

To hold as a 'classic' = yes

to hone your repair skills = yes

To sit and play with never a thought of problems = NO

To drag on tour = FUGGETABOUDIT

To rip apart and circut bend = which method of death do you perfer ????

I have always wanted one, but since I wouldn't possibly buy one on eBay and there's never been one for sale near me, it just hasn't happened.

It (obviously) depends on what you want to do with it. What sounds can it create that would make it worth the risk? What can it do that more recent and reliable synths can't do? Nothing in my book. Do you want it for the classic Polymoog vox humana sound (think Cars by Gary Numan)? Would you spend money on a risky and unreliable old synth for one classic sound? I can get make my Alesis Ion to sound very much like the Polymoog's vox humana. Unless you can get it for a good price (personally, I wouldn't pay more than 100 bucks for a working Polymoog), don't bother, unless of course your hobby is collecting vintage synths.

These are close enough for me not to spend $$$ on an old, unreliable, and potentially expensive to repair (if you can find the parts) vintage Polymoog.
