3 osc mono analog
I need a mono analog and i want it to have 3 osc. Another requirement is it has to have patch memory for live use. It's simply not feasible for me to remember every patch and dial it in while playing live so please don't start that discussion. So obviously there's the moog voyager, which is awesome but at a price. Then there's the studio electronics se1x which my mate has, its a beast and i love how its a bit more snappy and aggressive than the voyager. The only others i can think of are the macbeth m3x and the neptune 2 but they both lack patch memory. Any others i've missed? Got a budget of 1500 ish

Re: 3 osc mono analog
I don't think the liepzig has patch memory, Im sure the screen is just for midi set up etc....
Plus it's 2 osc with a sub osc...
It is lovely though...

Really? Weird didn't know that, makes me think why would you not have patch memory with a screen - seems kinda strange to mekuroichi wrote:I don't think the liepzig has patch memory, Im sure the screen is just for midi set up etc....

+1 on the pulse for that type of sound. I'm controlling mine with the X-station. Most of the parameters can be controlled via CC, it's easy to set it up with a good controller.insilico wrote:aggressive

DSI Evolver but 2 of the 4 oscillators are digital.
MFB Synth II if you can find one (recently discontinued).

I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.
Re: 3 osc mono analog
Yeah true, would make the synth really great all round, but I think it would affect the cost quite a bit considering that it has discrete parts, so I imagine it would require a setup similar to a LP or voyager to save patches.Hybrid88 wrote:Really? first one i thought of, but doesn't have patch memory.meatballfulton wrote:MFB Synth II if you can find one (recently discontinued).

Ah the pulse, forgot about that one. Haven't heard many demo's that really excited me though. I have seen them go for cheap but im more on the se1x because its got 1 knob per function and i know it sounds good. Got any links to good demos for the pulse though?

Really? I thought that was the main difference between it and the Kraftzwerg (aside from the patch points of course). Are the memory locations just for the sequencer then?space6oy wrote:first one i thought of, but doesn't have patch memory.meatballfulton wrote:MFB Synth II if you can find one (recently discontinued).

Re: 3 osc mono analog
yup, just note patterns. & it's a pretty weak sequencer, can't tie steps.
Re: 3 osc mono analog
I have an MFB Synth II and it DOES have patch memory. If by tie steps you mean join them together for legato, it can do that too. Glide doesn't work with the internal sequencer though which is strange and annoying. It's a great sounding synth though.

Re: 3 osc mono analog
it does? i don't remember that at all...
Re: 3 osc mono analog
Did you ever read the manual? (not trying to be snarky, serious question) Everything on that synth requires button combos so I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't catch that.
To store a preset you have to hold SHIFT+RECORD, then press one of the keyboard buttons to select a slot. To insert ties in the sequencer, you have to hold down the note you want tied in the next step, and while holding that down you press the play button. To recall presets you hold SHIFT and then press the keyboard keys for the pattern location, or SHIFT+PRESET+Keyboard key for the next bank. Kind of tedious, but it works.
