The SL mkII is a much better controller than the Nocturn, especially with the Automap and LCD displays. The SL Compact is better too.
I think Novation make very good controllers, the keybeds on them are better than any other controller I've used (at least on the higher end Novations) and better than most cheap synths. Automap is very good.

Akai MPK 49 has a great feeling keys , built in arp , 8 knobs , 8 sliders x3 banks , personally I don't like the pads ...for drumming as is ( but there are cheap upgrades to fix that ) there are 12 of them x 4 banks with note repeat , transport controls , large LCD , midi and usb , and best of all no drivers .
Some wish to leave their mark ... I want to leave a scar .

Avoid Behringer, M-Audio (except Axiom Pro) and Alesis
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

+1...I think you will the automap....it should make things much easier for you. The Nocturn feels just a little too cheap for me, but the SLs are a solid controller.Stab Frenzy wrote:The SL mkII is a much better controller than the Nocturn, especially with the Automap and LCD displays. I also recommend the Novations. I use a remote compact 49 and it's great.
